6 Steps to Becoming a Successful Guerilla Marketer
Marketing your product or service is imperative if you're going to succeed. Whether you're Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera or Bill Gates, without an aggressive marketing plan, no one will hear about what you do. One of the most effective ways to market your product or service is a technique called Guerilla Marketing.
What is Guerilla Marketing
Guerilla marketing is the use of avant-garde marketing techniques intended to achieve great results from the smallest amount of resources. Today, guerrilla marketing is a non-traditional, low-cost, and highly effective marketing endeavor, which when used properly, can reap huge rewards.
Dare to Be Different
To further your career or business, it is imperative that you market in ways that are new and unique in order to catch someone's eye and get ahead of the competition. The first step into the guerilla-marketing zone is to think outside of the box. What does that mean? Simply put, don't do what everyone else is doing.
Podcast:
The use of Podcasting has become very popular in today's world. If you don't podcast, there's no better time to start then now. A great podcast can help expose your business, book and/or product to many new potential customers and clients. Make sure that you plug your website during the podcast so prospective customers and clients will be able to find you.
Visit the Local Library:
Check out the library system! Why not go to your local library and see if can do a free speaking or music engagement. Offer an incentive deal to them. In exchange for allowing you to perform at their library, offer a percentage of back-of-the-room sales after your show. Many libraries are in dire need of additional funds.
Use Unwanted Junk Snail Mail:
Junk snail mail has always been an annoyance. Why not use it to your advantage instead of becoming frustrated over it? Here's how: When you receive junk snail mail, many times the advertiser has kindly provided a pre-paid envelope inside. Why not put your brochure, business card or a letter addressed to them announcing your product or service. If you put a letter inside, write something like, "Since you were kind enough to send me your information, I am returning the favor." Do the same when paying bills.
With Ideas and Legwork You Can Succeed!
With a few ideas of your own and a little legwork, you'll be surprised to see what your efforts will yield. An important thing to remember is...if something isn't working and you want different results, then you must do something different!
Guerrilla marketing is what you need to do differently. Go after your audience with fervor and diligence. Think outside of the box to get the results you desire and the exposure for your product and/or service that you need.
